The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat
Desperately in need of a getaway from the busy work schedule and city. Decided to stay here due to the great reviews on the internet on how relaxing this place is......
After staying here for one night, no doubt this is one of the better options if you are looking to get away from the city for a night of relaxation and pampering. Top notch customer service received was very refreshing as they are rare nowadays.
We
stayed at the water villa and it was huge. Our own private pool (for
dipping only, too small to swim) and hot water spa being next to each
other was wonderful. Jeff's cellar which also house Tan Sri Jeffrey
Cheah's private collection on display, was an eye opener! Very unique
restaurant/bar setting in a limestone cave. Thoroughly enjoyed the villa
and cellar experience.

This entire place would be great for those who are really into limestone caves, relaxing in caves surrounded by crystals, and dips at the hot water pools. However for us, after a couple hours of being in awe of the beautiful resort setting, we quickly found the place to be boring and irritated by the mosquitoes as they are everywhere. Probably planting more natural mosquito repelling plant as adopted by other similar resorts would help? Also, we can't help but constantly compare this place to our previous stay at Pangkor Laut (similarly priced), as they share a lot of similarity in terms of style of service and accommodation setting. Banjaran is constantly one notch below in all aspects of the total experience.
All in all, good place for a short relaxing getaway and the offerings available, being not too far from KL, is a great advantage.
